In today’s interconnected world, access to reliable internet is not just a luxury; it’s a necessity. From remote work and virtual education to telemedicine and staying in touch with loved ones, the internet has become an indispensable part of our daily lives. However, for many rural communities across America, access to high-speed internet remains a challenge, creating what is known as the digital divide.
At Mercury Broadband, we recognize the importance of closing this digital divide and ensuring that all communities, regardless of their geographic location, have access to affordable and reliable broadband services. That’s why I’m proud to share with you our commitment to bridging the digital gap in rural America.
One of the key initiatives through which we are addressing this issue is our participation in the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). Administered by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the ACP provides financial assistance to eligible households, making internet access more affordable for families facing financial challenges. Unfortunately, the ACP is only fully funded through April and is expected to lapse by May. This puts at risk all the progress we have made in keeping Americans connected to this critical resource.
Given the uncertainty surrounding the future of the ACP, we have decided to extend our commitment to honoring existing ACP pricing through May of 2025 for existing Mercury customers enrolled in the ACP program. This means that eligible households can continue to benefit from affordable internet access without any changes to their upcoming bills for the foreseeable future. We will then reevaluate our plans going forward, taking into consideration any developments related to the ACP and our ongoing commitment to serving our customers.

We are constantly investing in infrastructure and technology to expand our network coverage and improve the quality of service for all our customers. That’s why we are actively engaged with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to identify and implement solutions that bring broadband access to underserved areas. By working together, we can make meaningful progress towards closing the digital divide and ensuring that no community is left behind in the digital age.
